In our latest Throwback Thursday we’re taking a look at a time when every little kid had a See ‘N Say, Atari was the gaming console of the moment, and Cabbage Patch Kids were a holiday staple.

Fashion runways were overflowing with bow collar shirts, leg warmers, and men stayed on-trend by adding suspenders to their wardrobe.

Popular films included Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, Superman III, National Lampoon’s Vacation, and Flashdance.

Michael Sembello’s “Maniac” was featured on the Flashback soundtrack and quickly moved up the Billboard Hot 100 charts peaking at #1 for two weeks.

The song was nominated for an Academy Award, however, it lost to Irene Cara’s “Flashdance… What a Feeling,” which was also featured in the film.

Irene Cara – “Flashdance… What a Feeling”

The Police – “Every Breath That You Take”

Lionel Richie – “All Night Long”

Men At Work – “Down Under”

Michael Jackson – “Billie Jean”
