Top 10 Brands In The World

06/02/2015 at 12:01 | Posted by Phil Harris

Quick, name the brand that is the biggest part of your life. It’s probably something you use everyday, right? And maybe something that involves technology and the Internet. That doesn’t narrow it down very much, does it?

Before I saw BrandZ’s Top 100 Most Valuable Brands study for 2015, I guessed that the #1 global brand was Facebook. The social media app reaches just about every corner of the world now. But I was wrong. Facebook is only 12th on the list. My second guess was also incorrect. I figured if everyone shops on it, Amazon had to be near the top of the list. Nope. It’s #14.

The top two brands in the world have been duking it out for the #1 spot in recent years, and they are tech-related companies, but some more traditional companies also make the list. Here are the top ten:

Apple held the top spot in 2011, 2012, and 2013, but slipped in 2014 to Google. Even though the Apple Watch generated a lot of buzz this year, it’s the iPhone 6 that truly boosted the brand’s value in 2015. The research shows Apple’s value has grown 67% this year to a total worth of $247 billion, while Google grew 9% to reach $173.7 billion.
