Journey Gets Into The Rock Hall Of Fame – Possible Steve Perry Reunion?
One of rock’s biggest bands, though neglected on the larger stages – like Grammy’s, AMA’s, etc., is now set to be inducted into the genre’s highest ‘office,’ the ‘Rock and Roll Hall of Fame,’ in the New Year.
Per RollingStone.com, “Despite selling upwards of 50 million records, landing 18 Top 40 singles on the charts and continuing to sell out arenas all over the world even though they parted ways with frontman Steve Perry two decades ago, Journey never even appeared on a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ballot until earlier this year.
It’s their turn, and their year!
Journey’s original and ‘founding’ line-up will be inducted as ‘Journey.’
- Jonathan Cain
- Aynsley Dunbar
- Steve Perry
- Gregg Rolie
- Neal Schon
- Steve Smith
- Ross Valory
Arnel Pineda, the ‘new’ singer that replaced Steve Perry and breathed new life into the band for 9 years, wasn’t included, though may be performing at the ceremony – with or without Steve Perry, if he shows in April.
Neil Schon gave an extensive interview with Rolling Stone about the honors, and possibly reuniting – he’s wide open for it – with Steve Perry.
