Miami Marlins players and fans had to be thinking about omens this week when a cat appeared in the outfield at Marlins Park on Tuesday (4/11) during a game with the Atlanta Braves. The Marlins' star right fielder Giancarlo Stanton was the first to approach the gray kitty, followed shortly by a member of the stadium security staff. That just drove the cat up a wall. Literally.
The feisty feline was not interested in making any friends at the ballpark that night. Instead, it scaled the outfield wall with the athletic prowess of Spider-Man as it searched for a way out of the building. As far as any omen the cat may have represented for the Marlins, it looks like it was a good one. Miami beat Atlanta 8-4.
