There was a time when Mel Gibson was funny. He made us laugh in the Lethal Weapon movies, Bird on a Wire, and Maverick. Mel even did an episode of The Simpsons back in the ’90s. And then he wasn’t funny. For a lot of reasons.
Hopefully, Mel Gibson’s darkest days are behind him. He seems to be taking a step in a lighter direction with his supporting role in the upcoming sequel, Daddy’s Home 2. Mel plays ‘Kurt Mayron,’ the father of Mark Wahlberg’s character, ‘Dusty Mayron,’ and grandfather to Dusty’s kids. It’s another tough guy role for Mel but, based on the trailer below, it looks like we’ll be laughing at him again. For the right reasons.
Daddy’s Home 2 also stars Will Ferrell and John Lithgow. It opens in theaters on November 10th.
