According to Billboard, the musical TV event for The Little Mermaid is on hold.
A statement from an ABC spokesperson says the following:
“We are postponing the Little Mermaid Live special. We love the idea of doing a live musical and want to make it wonderful. The project is so unique that we are making best efforts to do it next year and want to give it all the attention it deserves.”
Though the project was supposed to be aired as a two-hour event, the show has supposedly been scrapped until further notice, and the rumor is that money issues are to blame for this.
For the time being, I guess we won’t be able to be part of their world!
