“Mom, are we there yet?” You would hear that a lot if you attempted the longest road trip on Earth with your family. That’s because the greatest distance you can drive on one continuous road system, without crossing a body of water via ferry, is 8,726 miles between Sagres, Portugal in western Europe and Khasan, Russia in eastern Asia. But there are a couple of things you should know before hitting the highway:
- Khasan is on the border with North Korea, so watch where you park.
- Stock up on audio books before you start driving. There are no Cracker Barrels anywhere in Europe or Asia.
