THIS is so cool! Did you know that old mascara wands can help wild animals? I had NO idea! Yesterday I received an email about an event here in Charlotte. Old mascara wands are being collected by Aveda at SouthPark Mall on Friday, November 10, 2017 to help save wild animals. The event is being held as part of the Wands for WildlifeSM recycling program run by the nonprofit Appalachian Wildlife Refuge. The organization will have a table set up in the Center Court area of the mall by the Aveda from noon until 7pm collecting wands and sharing information about how they are used. Old mascara wands can help remove fly eggs and larva from the fur of animals, and they are even used to clean out the syringes used to feed and provide medication to the wild ones. What a cool thing! Aveda is also going to give customers discounts on new mascara if they bring in old mascara wands. An amazing concept helping animals….I love it!
