All of those new breweries are on to something and Amazon might be thinking the same way. Forbes has placed North Carolina at the top of its Best States for Business list based on factors such as costs, economic climate, growth prospects, labor supply, regulatory environment, and overall quality of life. Despite the controversial House Bill 2, a.k.a. the "Bathroom Bill," keeping some companies away from North Carolina, this is still a very desirable place to work and call home.

North Carolina's numerous colleges and universities, skilled workforce, and relatively low cost of living also contributed to the high ranking. For the last twelve years, North Carolina has consistently been among the top five of Forbes' Best States for Business, so perhaps it was only a matter of time. We can probably expect to see even more transplants landing here in the near future.

South Carolina didn't fare to poorly either, garnering a respectable #16 in the ranking. Click here to see the entire list.
