A man is recovering after being revived 18 hours after his heart stopped beating.
The Times is reporting the man had a heart attack outdoors in cold temperatures, which caused his body temperature to drop.
Doctors in France, where the incident occurred, credit the cold temperatures with keeping the man’s body alive, even though his heart had stopped.
The man, who is 53 years old, did not suffer any brain damage during the ordeal, and is reportedly in pretty good condition considering the health scare.
In most cases, in the absence of medical treatment during a severe heart attack, a patient will die before being found or before help arrives.
He is definitely lucky to still be alive after the ordeal.
