Have you ever thought that where you live might be keeping you from financial success? There might be something to that idea. We all know about the gender pay gap and how women are making less money than men in corporate America. Even though that’s true, there are some places were women are doing fairly well at the office, especially near our nation's capital.

A new report from financial website SmartAsset has identified the cities where women are most successful in their work lives. The rankings are based on the following factors:
  • Percent of women with high incomes
  • Median earnings for full-time working women
  • Percent of businesses owned by women
  • Women’s unemployment rate
  • Percent of women with bachelor’s degrees
  • Average housing cost as a percent of a full-time working woman’s income
