Helpful Info On Hurricane Evacuations
In 1989, I was in the Carolina’s for Hurricane Hugo. I was 19 years old, and living with my parents in Tega Cay. I remember the hurricane, but I don’t remember my family preparing for it. We were lucky! The worst thing that happened to us is that our power went out for five days. Hurricane Florence has been downgraded to a Category 1 storm, but that doesn’t mean we are safe. The amount of rain expected in the Carolina’s is astounding! 11 TRILLION gallons are expected. That’s a number I can’t even fathom!
I found an article online from a woman that survived Hurricane Katrina. She offers a few quick and simple tricks to help you in case you need to evacuate your home. One of the things she mentions is putting stuff in the dishwasher to keep them safe. I never thought about that! It IS waterproof! You can read more here. Stay safe, be prepared, and help out your neighbors. Praying for us all!
