This is just precious.
A group of volunteers built a new deck for William Ray, a Navy veteran, and his wife, Ruth Ray.
Despite the rain they faced, Tom Vonkaenel and the rest of the volunteers were determined to get the project done according to WLKY. “We could always move it another three weeks, but you know what? The service men and women, when they’re asked to do something in the cold and the rain, they don’t have a choice,” Vonkaenel said.
William Ray, 94, has had two hip replacements and walks with the help of a cane. The new deck will ensure that the home is safe and accessible for him.
