Are you sitting down? Believe it or not, there's a holiday called, National Ice Cream for Breakfast Day. It's on Saturday, February 2nd and was started in the 1960's by Rochester, NY mom Florence Rappaport, who simply wanted something fun for her kids on a snowy morning. I hope she won 'Mom of the Year.'

It's no surprise that the holiday has been embraced by ice cream lovers and ice cream companies, alike. Can you say "marketing opportunity?" Just in time for this year's observance of National Ice Cream for Breakfast Day, Ben & Jerry's has announced three new cookie dough core flavors:

  • Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Core - Cookie milk ice cream, fudge chips and a dense chocolate chip cookie dough core.
  • Wake and No-Bake Cookie Dough Core - Peanut butter cookie-filled vanilla ice cream and fudge chip-filled peanut butter ice cream split by a no-bake cookie dough core.
  • Sweet Like Sugar Cookie Dough Core - Sugar cookie dough core splitting cherry ice cream and almond-flavored sweet cream ice cream flecked with shortbread cookie pieces.

Well done, gentlemen. We'll see you at breakfast on February 2nd.
