The movie will be different in China!

The Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody is about to get a release in China – minus any mention of Freddie Mercury’s sexual preferences.

China is getting a censored version of the movie that removes about one minute of material includes several kisses that actor Rami Malek, as Mercury, shares with male characters.

Some portrayals of drug use have also been cut. China has a long history of banning LGBT content in movies and even censored Malek’s reference to “gay men” during his Oscars speech Sunday night.

Is China too conservative?
