I remember when I was about five years old, I told my dad that I wanted to be a mermaid when I grew up. As a grown-up, I realize that I can't do that professionally, but I just found out that I CAN take a mermaid class! You can actually attend the "Mermaid School at Walt Disney World" in Orlando, Florida. Several of the Disney resorts will be offering the school. You'll be able to take a class on how to swim like a mermaid, tail and all.
