Easter is on Sunday, April 21st but the celebrating starts long before then. Here are some fun events in and around Charlotte to enjoy with your family (click links for more details):
Easter Egg Hunt (4/6) – Stallings Municipal Park, 340 Stallings Road, Stallings. Easter egg hunts for ages 12 and younger, candy prizes, and photos with the Easter Bunny. In case of rain, hunts will be on April 13th. 10:00 AM-12:30 PM. Free.
Peter Rabbit’s Garden Adventure (4/6-7) – Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden, 6500 S. New Hope Road, Belmont. Meet Peter Rabbit and enjoy activities, crafts, and live entertainment. 11:00 AM-3:00 PM. $7-$13; children under 2 admitted free.
Caring Bunny at Concord Mills (4/7) – Concord Mills, 8111 Concord Mills Blvd., Concord. Children with special needs can participate in the Bunny Photo Experience in a subdued environment. 9:00 AM-11:00 AM. Free. Additional cost for photos.
Easter at the Library (4/13) – Billy Graham Library, 4330 Westmont Drive, Charlotte. Resurrection Quest scavenger hunt, baby animals, and story time on the patio. Ages 12 and older can tie-dye a T-shirt. 9:30 AM-3:30 PM. Free admission, $10 for t-shirts.
Easter Egg Drop (4/13) – Aw Shucks Farms, 3718 Plyler Mill Road, Monroe. Helicopter will drop thousands of eggs at 11am. Also enjoy baby animals, photos with the Easter Bunny, and prizes. 10:00 AM-1:00 PM. $6.
Easter Egg Hunt at the Speedpark (4/13) – The Speedpark at Concord Mills Mall, 8461 Concord Mills Blvd., Concord. Hunt for eggs, golden eggs, and prizes. 10:00 AM. Free.
Historic Rosedale’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt (4/13) – Historic Rosedale Plantation, 3427 N. Tryon St., Charlotte. Four Easter egg hunts at 10am, 11am, 12pm, and 1pm. Each participant gets a small gift. Reservation required. 10:00 AM-2:00 PM. $10.
Hop into Spring (4/13) – Robbins Park, 17738 W. Catawba Ave., Cornelius. Egg-themed activities, arts and crafts, face painting, inflatables, music, and photos with Peter Cottontail. Bring your own basket. Ages 3-12. 2:00 PM-4:00 PM. Free.
Naturalist Egg Hunt at Wing Haven (4/13) – Wing Haven Gardens and Bird Sanctuary, 248 Ridgewood Ave., Charlotte. Make binoculars to spot treasures during egg hunt, learn about songbirds, and enjoy spring activities and crafts. Registration required. Ages 10 and younger. 10:00 AM-12:00 PM. $15-$20 per family.
Daylight & Flashlight Egg Hunts at Whispering Hope Farm (4/13-14) – Whispering Hope Farm, 1405 Crowders Creek Road, Gastonia. Baby animals, farm playground, horse rides, and egg hunts. Ages 12 and younger. Daylight hunts: 10:30 AM-12:00 PM; Flashlight hunts: 6:30 PM-8:00 PM. $8 per person; cash only. (Additional $5 to ride horse).
Lazy 5 Ranch’s Easter Eggstravaganza (4/13 & 4/20) – Lazy 5 Ranch, 15100 Mooresville Road, Mooresville. Helicopter egg drop, contests, live bunnies, scavenger hunt, and prizes. Easter Bunny Express (4/13-14, 4/19-20) – North Carolina Transportation Museum, 411 S. Salisbury Ave., Spencer. Enjoy 25-minute train ride with the Easter Bunny that includes candy and photos. Spring Fling at Hodges Family Farm (4/19-20) – Hodges Family Farm, 3900 Rocky River Road E., Charlotte. Easter egg hunts, raffles, yard games, hayrides (additional fee), farm animals, and Easter Bunny visit. Ages 6 and younger. 9:00 AM-2:00 PM. $7 per child for egg hunt, children 2 and under free.
Easter Egg 400 (4/20) – NASCAR Hall of Fame, 400 E. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Charlotte. Easter Bunny hosts morning of games and entertainment, including bubble performances, balloon twisting, face painting, a magic show, egg relays, egg hunt, and photos. Each child gets carton of eggs filled with candy and prizes. 8:30 AM-11:30 AM. Tickets start at $12, kids under 2 admitted free. Early admission tickets that include brunch buffet available.
Latta Plantation Easter Egg Hunt (4/20) – Historic Latta Plantation, 5225 Sample Road, Huntersville. Photos with Baxter the Bunny, story time, crafts, farm animals and Easter egg hunt for ages 1 to 10. 10:00 AM-3:00 PM. $8 for one child and one parent, $8 for additional adult.
