We’re heading into wedding season. Sort of. The tradition of the June wedding isn’t as much of a tradition anymore. A new report from Zola.com about 2019’s most popular wedding dates shows that September and October will be the busiest months for officiants, caterers, and DJs.
According to the wedding planning website, the single most popular wedding date this year is Saturday, October 12th, followed by Saturday, October 5th. In fact, every Saturday in October made the top ten list. Saturday is still the preferred day on which to tie the knot, but the report reveals a rise in popularity of Thursday weddings. Furthermore, Fridays are now more popular than Sundays for weddings.

This is no fluke. The wedding industry saw similar results in 2018, too. It makes sense. What bride wouldn’t prefer the more comfortable weather of fall over the heat, humidity, pollen, and potential for thunderstorms in spring and summer? For the record, my wife, Sara, and I had a perfect outdoor wedding in Austin, TX on Saturday, October 30, 1999.
