We Finally Know How To Get To Sesame Street
Sunny day
Sweepin’ the clouds away
On my way to where the air is sweet
Can you tell me how to get,
How to get to Sesame Street?
Stop! Yes, we can. After fifty years, we have an answer to that question. We can finally tell you how to get to Sesame Street because that’s what the City of New York has permanently renamed the intersection of Broadway and West 63rd Street. That also happens to be the location of Sesame Workshop, where the beloved and iconic children’s show is produced.

Mayor Bill de Blasio, was on hand for the renaming ceremony as part of Sesame Street’s year-long celebration of its 50th anniversary. Also in attendance were longtime Sesame Street residents Big Bird, Elmo, and Cookie Monster. In making it official, New York City’s mayor proclaimed, “Fifty years of making people’s lives better. Fifty years of having people believe in themselves.”
