International Baseball Comes To Charlotte On July 3rd
Some of the best baseball players in the long history of the game have come from Cuba. Charlotte’s BB&T Ballpark will host a game between the Cuban National Team and USA Baseball Collegiate National Team on Wednesday, July 3rd.
This game is part of the 8th Annual USA vs. Cuba International Friendship Series and it will be the third time it has been played at the home of the Charlotte Knights. Since the series restarted in 2012, Team USA is 19-15 overall against Cuba. The U.S. team has won the last four series in a row. Team USA is 2-0 against Cuba at BB&T Ballpark, winning the games here in 2015 and 2017.
Gates will open at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, July 3rd and first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM. After the game, BB&T Ballpark will light up the uptown skyline with post-game fireworks. And since that’s the week of Independence Day, the Knights will also have fireworks on the July 4th and 5th.
