There are "meatless" burgers, "meatless" meatballs, and now, we may be able to try out "fishless fish".

Impossible Foods, the folks that make the Impossible Burger, is currently 'developing alternatives to traditional seafood with plant-based recipes or laboratory techniques that allow scientists to grow fish from cells," according to the New York Times.

Through research, the company found that heme protein (the same type found in their "meat" formula) can be used to reproduce the flavor of fish, so eventually, the fishless fish could taste just as good as the real deal. Except the "faux fish" won't cause the health problems many believe are linked to eating fish nor will it have any negative environmental impacts.

The Impossible Foods folks hope to have the product out by 2035. Yeah....a few years away, but they could always develop it sooner! You can find out more details here.
