Ok. We are officially out of control in this country. Lawsuits over the LACK of chicken sandwiches? Yep. It’s has happened.

A man in Tennessee is suing Popeyes Restaurant.  Craig Barr of East Ridge, Tennessee is accusing Popeyes of false advertising, deceptive business practices and causing him to waste “countless time driving” to and from local chains to find the sandwich. Barr also claimed he was scammed out of money from a person who posted an ad online claiming he could get sandwiches from a location where they had some of them hidden in the back. He paid $25 but claims he received nothing in return. Ummmm….sorry dude, but that’s on you!

Barr stated, “I can’t get happy; I have this sandwich on my mind. I can’t think straight,” he told the Times Free Press. “It just consumes you.” I’ve always said that a good sandwich can change your life, but I had NO idea anyone would take it this far. I’m not sure a sandwich is the key to happiness for this guy, but I’m no therapist.

If you’ve been under a rock the last few weeks, Popeyes came out with a chicken sandwich in August, and the restaurant chain sold out of the sandwiches in three weeks. They have said that the sandwiches will be a permanent fixture on their menu, but they haven’t given a specific date on when the sandwiches will be back.

I didn’t have a chance to try the Popeyes sandwich, but I want too. And yes….I was a bit upset they ran out but not to the point of suing! I wonder if this will become a class action lawsuit, with others joining in.

Disappointment is a part of life, and in my opinion, this guy needs a life. I mean, what happens to him when the grocery store is out of something, or a concert sells out?  OY!

You can read more on the story here. It’s going to be interesting to see if this case is entertained by the court system. I will admit though, now I REALLY wanna try the sandwich. LOL!
