The name suggests that it takes place in October, and it does, but it’s perfectly acceptable for Oktoberfest to begin in September. In fact, the big one in Munich, Germany runs from September 21st through October 6th.

Closer to home, you’ll find Oktoberfest celebrations from September 20th all the way through October 26th. Here’s the rundown:

  • Sept. 20 – 22: Mecktoberfest, Olde Mecklenburg Brewery, 4150 Yancey Rd., 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM, Free admission.
  • Sept. 20 – Oct. 12 (Fri & Sat): Oktoberfest 2019 at Waldhorn Restaurant, 12101 Lancaster Hwy, Pineville, NC, 5:00 PM-Midnight, $4.00 Adults & Children 12 and over.
  • Sept. 28: South End Oktoberfest (Benefit for Safe Alliance), Norfolk Hall, 2905 Griffith St., 1:30 PM – 6:00 PM, $40 (VIP: $55 with early admission at noon).
  • Sept. 28: Oktoberfest at Chima Charlotte, 139 S Tryon St., 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, $30.
  • Oct. 11-13: Hickory Oktoberfest, Union Square in Downtown Hickory, NC; Fri. 5:00 PM – 11:00 PM, Sat. 10:00 AM – 11:00 PM, Sun. 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM.
  • Oct. 19: Oktoberfest 2019 in Old Town Rock Hill, 157 Main Street, Rock Hill, SC, 4:00 PM – 10:00 PM, Free admission (Wiener Dog Run benefits Humane Society of York County) and family-friendly.
  • Oct. 19: Premature Oktoberfest at 8.2.0, 820 Hamilton St., 7:00 PM – 11:00 PM, $100 (Benefits families of premature or chronically ill infants).
  • Oct. 26: Queen City Oktoberfest, The Carole Hoefener Center, 615 East 6th St., 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM, Free admission and family-friendly.
