Earlier this week, Phil Harris and I shared a story on-the air about a fourth grader from Florida who was bullied by his classmates. The boy created a homemade University of Tennessee t-shirt to wear to his school’s “College Colors Day” and other students made fun of him.
The boy’s teacher shared his story on Facebook, and the story went viral. A picture of the boy’s homemade “U.T” shirt was posted, and the university made the child’s design an official t-shirt of the school. As of right now, there are over 50,000 pre-orders for the shirt. Proceeds from the shirt will go to the charity “Stomp Out Bullying”, which is just awesome!
The school has now extended an offer of admission to the fourth grade boy. The University of Tennessee said, “In recognition of the fourth grader’s Volunteer spirit, the university has extended an offer of admission for him to join the Class of 2032.” The school will give the child a four-year scholarship covering his tuition and fees beginning in the fall of 2028.
BEST THING EVER! How amazing is that?! This is the best feel good story of the week. You can read more here. Talk about karma! I may have to get a U.T. tee just to show support for this young man!
Rock on dude! Always do you!
