I was only 6-years-old in 1979, so my parents wouldn't take me to see Alien at a movie theater. It didn't really matter, though. I feel like I got the full effect of Ridley Scott's film watching it on TV a few years later. It was still terrifying. Poor Sigourney Weaver. Nevertheless, I may have to buy a ticket to see it on a big screen all these years later.

If you also weren't old enough to see it during its original release, you're getting another chance. In honor of the movie's 40th anniversary, Fathom Events is bringing Alien back to select theaters for three days: October 13th (1p & 4p), 15th (7p), and 16th (7p).

Locally, Alien will be showing at the AMC Concord Mills 24, Regal Stonecrest At Piper Glen 22, and Tinseltown Salisbury. Tickets are on sale now.
