A restaurant in the Midwest has a found a new source of revenue: pregnant women in their third trimester. The Suburban in Excelsior, Minnesota says 1 to 3 expectant mothers are visiting the restaurant every day to order the "Labor Inducer" Burger.

The Suburban's chef created the burger for a local competition. The pregnant sister of the restaurant's co-owner tried it and went into labor 7 hours later. She wasn't due for another 9 days.

Then it happened again. Another baby was born not too long after a different mother ate the burger. News of the burger's labor inducing powers quickly went viral.

It's not exactly clear what's causing this phenomenon. The "Labor Inducer" consists an Angus beef patty with honey-cured bacon, peach caramelized onions, spicy mustard, and Cajun remoulade on a pretzel bun. Could it be that the spicier ingredients are the catalyst?

Here in the Charlotte area, Hawthorne's New York Pizza & Bar also claims to have a menu item that can hasten childbirth. Their Buffalo Wing Pizza, a.k.a "The Inducer," is made with a medium-hot buffalo sauce, chicken, and mozzarella cheese. Again, there's a spicy element that may be kick starting the contractions.

What do you think? Do you believe that certain foods can induce labor, or are these instances merely coincidental?
