So you say you're not a morning person. Join the club. But mornings don't have to be miserable. Just as with almost anything, the key to having a good morning is all in how you get started.

I came across an article from Entrepreneur magazine entitled '3 Research-Backed Ways to Make Your Morning More Productive.' It's not just about "taking care of business," but also taking care of yourself.

The research boils down to these three simple tips:

1. Get a good night's sleep. The amount of sleep needed differs from person to person but it can be a springboard into a better, more productive morning. Go to bed at the same time every night, put down the phone before you get there, don't drink too much alcohol before bedtime, and practice ways to clear your mind.

2. Wake up at the same time every day. Just as with your bedtime, consistency in the morning is key. Maintain a regular schedule and give yourself enough time to get into your day without being rushed. If you're not stressed about running late, you can get more things done.

3. Be positive and mindful from the time you wake up. Having a good attitude at the beginning of your day will help you take on tasks with more enthusiasm. Take it from a guy who wakes up at 3:45 AM, starting the morning in the right frame of mind makes a huge difference.
