A New Kind of Job Fair
It’s the Second Annual Catawba Indian Nation Job Fair this Wednesday, November 13, from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. SC Works teamed up with the Catawba Indian Nation to host a regional job fair, and their goal is to highlight the culture and provide a community service via a job fair. ” Catawba Corporation Human Resources Director Patricia Leach said. “Although this is open to the public, bringing in companies for this job fair gives the tribal members a chance to come in and meet with them as well.” As part of National Native American Heritage Month, job seekers and visitors will have an opportunity to experience a part of the Catawba Indian Nation culture. There will be a “drumming” session to open the job fair. Also, at a break during the job fair, Catawba Corporation Economic Development Director Ronnie Beck will perform the Hoop Dance.
At this time, there are a variety of businesses slated for the job fair including York County Government, Atlas Copco Compressors LLC, Meyer Utility Structures, US Foods, Visiting Angels, South Carolina Highway Patrol, Magnolia Manor of Rock Hill, LCI Lineberger Construction, Inc., City of Rock Hill, Carolina Poly, 2020 Census, Coroplast, Giti Tires, Qure Medical, Williams and Fudge, and Keer America.
