“Who’s that eatin’ that nasty food?”

If you know the answer to that question, you are definitely a child of ’80s. And if you’re a child of the ’80s, then there’s a good chance you owned a copy of Janet Jackson’s album Control.

Released in February of 1986, Control shot straight to #1 on the Billboard 200 album chart. Almost every song on that album was hit, including “Nasty.” The sassy single reached #3 on the Billboard Hot 100, #2 on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart, and #1 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.

The video for “Nasty” was an early showcase for Janet’s talent as a dancer. It was choreographed by Paula Abdul, who also made a cameo appearance. Look for her sitting in the movie theater at the 2:49 mark. Paula later won the MTV Video Music Award for Best Choreography (1987).
