‘The Lost Boys’ TV Series Filming In NC This Spring

Rumblings of a Lost Boys reboot have been in the news since 2016. It looks like the wait is over thanks to the CW. A new TV series based on the 1987 film goes into production this spring.

As in the movie, the vampire show will be set in the fictional beach town of Santa Carla, CA. However, the new CW version will be filmed in Carolina Beach, NC.

The Lost Boys pilot episode will be directed by Catherine Hardwicke, who already has some vampire experience. She directed the movie Twilight in 2008.

Filming is expected to get underway in mid-March at several locations in and around Carolina Beach. There's even a chance for you to be in it. The production crew is looking for about 200 paid extras.
