A Mom Was Desperate To See Her Friends & Came Up With A Great Idea
Many of us are missing our friends. We’re missing the laughs, the hugs, the smiles, and the support. With social distancing and stay-at-home orders in place in lots of states across the country, socializing in person isn’t happening. A mom and her friends in Minnesota figured out a way to get together while still maintaining social distancing.
Before COVID-19 hit, Katherine Kaylor loved spending time with her best friends. It was a regular part of her routine. The tight-knit group of Minnesota mothers often got together for brunch, coffee, and playdates with their children. Sadly, the only way they’ve been able to communicate lately is via group text or by video chatting.
Last Friday the women found a way to get together for their usual 7 a.m. coffee date — just not at their usual meetup spot. Five of the friends met in an empty parking lot near a local park, and each of the moms sat perched in the trunks of their minivans, wrapped in blankets, six feet apart from one another. Brilliant!

What a great idea! The ladies were able to chat for a few hours and they say that seeing each other in person helped to lift their spirits during this difficult time. In their town in Minnesota when this occurred, there was not a stay-at-home order in place. Sadly there is now, so the ladies are unable to “tailgate talk”.
Social distancing may be around for quite sometime, even after stay-at-home orders are aren’t in place. This is a great idea to keep on the back burner! Staying in touch with friends is extremely important right now for your mental health. Make sure you text them, email them, video chat with them or call them (the old school way). Stay safe!!
