You can’t spell ’80s New Wave without ABC. The English group regularly appeared on the Top 40 charts in the U.K. and U.S. between 1981 and 1990.

ABC’s debut album, The Lexicon of Love, yielded five singles, the second of which was “Poison Arrow.” It was the group’s first song to chart on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at #25 in 1982.

ABC’s singer, Martin Fry, plays three roles in the music video: an opera patron; a messenger boy at the opera; and a bandleader at a night club. As all three characters, he attempts to woo a glamorous woman, but to no avail. By the way, that woman was played by a young Lisa Vanderpump, whom you might recognize from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
