What kind of protective face mask are you wearing these days? As we've seen from your photos, there's a wide variety to choose from.

Whether you buy it or make it, the most important thing is that you wear your mask correctly, covering both your mouth and nose. Did you know there's an easy way to make cotton masks even more effective in preventing the spread of COVID-19?

According to Buzz60, researchers at the Missouri University of Science and Technology recommend adding three layers of coffee filters to your cloth mask. It helps if your mask has an interior pocket, but you can also use coffee filters with bandanas. This video shows you how.

As more public spaces open up and we increasingly come into contact with others, the CDC urges us to continue wearing face coverings. Adding the coffee filters can help protect you from up to 24% of relevant particles. Just don't use them after you've made your coffee.
