Just in time for summer break, the North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro has announced that it will be reopening to the public on Monday, June 15th. As you can imagine, the reopening will come with several new precautions in place. For example, there will be no day-of, walk-up entry.
WCNC-TV reports that all tickets must be purchased at least three days in advance on the NC Zoo website and admission will be timed. That means you’ll be given a specific entrance time for your visit to the grounds. Maximum capacity will be 2,000 people at any one time.
Some parts of the zoo will remain closed for the time being, including the indoor habitats and indoor dining facilities. You can read more about the changes HERE.
