Nike Grateful Dead Sneakers Are Coming And They’re Trippy
Some far-out sneakers are going to be hitting shoe stores soon. Nike has collaborated with the Grateful Dead to create a new bright and funky sneaker for the shoe company’s skateboarder line.
The shoes are suede and come in three bright colors of orange, green or yellow. They also have fake fur and feature the band’s iconic dancing bear logo on the tongue. The orange sneakers are available on July 18, with the yellow and green version is going on sale July 24.
My older brother Gary followed the Grateful Dead around the country in the 80’s. He came back from that trip looking rough and smelling like patchouli. He’s always been a big fan! Most Grateful Dead fans are hard core so I have a feeling these shoes will sell out quickly.
When I look at these shoes I immediately hear, “Lately, it occurs to me, What a long, strange trip it’s been…” I heard the song “Truckin'” a few times growing up!
