Here's some good news for talented singers who might still have to get over their fear of performing in front of a live audience. You can audition for the next season of American Idol via video. Actually, you won't have a choice.

E! News reports that the new season won't premiere until spring 2021, but the search for the next singing superstar will begin on August 10th. Due to the coronavirus, contestants can audition for ABC's singing competition in one of three safe ways:

  • Idols Across America, a series of virtual auditions in all 50 states done via Zoom video chat.
  • At-home auditions that allow people to register online and submit videos through the audition website.
  • Singers can post audition videos on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, or Twitter.

You didn't think something like a pandemic was going to stop the American Idol train, did you? The Zoom auditions for South Carolina contestants will be on September 3rd. North Carolina hopefuls will try out on September 9th. No matter how you go about it, at least you won't have to stand in any long lines. You can find more information HERE.
