The Go-Go’s broke a lot of new ground in the ’80s. They were the first all-female group to write their own songs, play their own instruments, earn a #1 hit, and now they have their own documentary on Showtime. It’s simply called “The Go-Go’s” and it’s definitely worth watching.
It might surprise some to learn that Charlotte Caffey, Belinda Carlisle, Gina Schock, Kathy Valentine, and Jane Wiedlin got their start in the L.A. punk scene. In those early days, they looked and sounded a lot different than The Go-Go’s who took top-40 radio and MTV by storm with “Our Lips Are Sealed,” “We Got the Beat,” and “Vacation.”

However, The Go-Go’s have just released their first new song in nearly 20 years. Listen to “Club Zero” here and check out the trailer for the documentary below.
