In his first movie since The Irishman, Robert De Niro is playing a character considerably kinder than a mafia hitman. The first trailer (below) has just dropped for The War with Grandpa.
Based on Robert Kimmel Smith’s 1984 kids’ novel, The War with Grandpa is about a sixth-grader named Peter who is forced to give up his bedroom when his widowed grandfather, Ed (DeNiro), moves in. Peter isn’t having it and begins a prank-filled campaign to get his room back.
Joining De Niro in the film are Oakes Fegley (Peter), Christopher Walken, Jane Seymour, Uma Thurman, Cheech Marin, and Rob Riggle. It’s an impressive cast for what appears to be a very fun movie for the whole family. The War with Grandpa is set to hit theaters on October 9th.
