With bands unable to tour in 2020, could this be the new way they make money? NME reports that the Rolling Stones are opening their own retail shop in September.
The shop is called RS No.9 and it’s described as the Stones’ “world-first flagship store.” Why is it called RS No.9? It will be located on London’s famous Carnaby St., specifically 9 Carnaby St. And the grand opening will be on September 9th.
RS No.9 will feature Rolling Stones-inspired fashion and merchandise, as well as the band’s extensive back catalog and new recordings. Fans around the world will also be able to shop online…because London isn’t exactly around the corner.
By the way, one of the Stones’ latest releases is a great track called “Scarlet.” It’s included on the 2020 reissue of their 1973 album, Goat Head’s Soup. Joining the band on guitar is none other than Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page. Check it out here:
