Small Business Relief Grant Application Opens September 14
If you have a small business and are still struggling to make ends meet, there is possible relief for you. The MeckCounty CARES Small Business Relief Grant opens applications today (September 14). The grant can provide up to $25,000 for small businesses located in six towns or unincorporated areas of the county and whose businesses have been impacted by COVID-19.
The CARES Act is providing $1.25 million to Mecklenburg County to supporting small businesses during the pandemic. The amount of each grant awarded depends upon the business size and availability.
In order to apply, Small Businesses MUST:
- Have 50 employees or less
- Be in one of the six towns or unincorporated areas of Mecklenburg County
- Registered with the NC Secretary of State prior to January 1, 2020
- Demonstrate that business was negatively impacted by COVID-19
The fund can be used for working capital, lease payments, existing real owner-occupied commercial estate mortgage and equipment financing payments, and covering payroll shortage.
Applications will be accepted until November 27, 2020, or until funds have been exhausted.
