Dennis Quaid Adopts Pet Named After Him

This is one of the most Hollywood things I've ever heard. Dennis Quaid, the actor, has adopted Dennis Quaid, the cat.

According to CNN, it all began when Dennis the actor heard about a black rescue cat in Virginia, also named Dennis Quaid, who was in need of a forever home. Even though the six-year-old cat was about 2,500 miles away from Los Angeles, the actor couldn't resist calling the Lynchburg Humane Society.

When the staff at the animal shelter got Quaid's phone call, they thought they were being pranked. After some convincing, the two Dennises met over Zoom. "I'm out to save all the Dennis Quaids of the world," said the actor.

The video conference call must have gone well because Jimmy Jellinek, who co-hosts "The Pet Show" podcast with Dennis Quaid, flew to Lynchburg to collect the kitty. Here's to many happy years together for Dennis Quaid and Dennis Quaid.
