David Letterman Returns With Third Season Of ‘My Next Guest Needs No Introduction’
Since leaving The Late Show on CBS in 2015, David Letterman has really only been semi-retired. The 73-year-old is still an active partner in Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing. Letterman joined Showtime’s climate change documentary series Years of Living Dangerously as a correspondent in 2016. He also appeared in the films Sully (2016) and Between Two Ferns: The Movie (2019).
Letterman’s latest project, a talk show called My Next Guest Needs No Introduction, returns to Netflix next month for its third season. According to Variety, this season will be shorter than the first two, with only four episodes. However, Dave booked four very different guests to interview: Kim Kardashian, Lizzo, Dave Chappelle, and Robert Downey Jr. The third season premieres on Wednesday, October 21st.
If you’ve never seen My Next Guest Needs No Introduction, you might be surprised by how different it is from Letterman’s late night TV work. Here’s a clip from the second season when Dave interviewed actress/comedian Tiffany Haddish:
