If you were among the thousands of people who visited the Olde Mecklenburg Brewery’s Mecktoberfest last month, you’re urged to get tested for coronavirus. According to the Charlotte Observer, two confirmed coronavirus cases have been connected to the fall celebration.
On Tuesday (10/6), Mecklenburg County Public Health Director Gibbie Harris told county commissioners that very few attendees wore masks or observed social distancing guidelines at the event. Video from Fox 46 shows that OMB’s beer garden was quite crowded.
The Mecklenburg County Health Department is asking anyone who attended Mecktoberfest between September 25th and September 27th to consider getting tested for COVID-19. Officials say they will offer free testing this Saturday, October 10th from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM at The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery (4150 Yancey Road). If possible, please bring your ID and insurance card.
