With so many breweries in the Asheville area, it’s good to know the city’s very first one is still going strong. Founded in 1994, Highland Brewing is getting ready to kick off another holiday season with its annual tradition: the release of Cold Mountain Spiced Winter Ale.
In past years, the coming of Cold Mountain Spiced Winter Ale has meant a big party. Historically, Cold Mountain release weekends have drawn more than 3,000 people to the brewery. But it’s 2020, so the big party will become a series of smaller parties. This year, Highland Brewing is extending the Cold Mountain celebration sessions over nine days to accommodate guests safely.
The first phase of festivities will run from Friday, November 6th to Sunday, November 8th with family-friendly afternoon sessions (12p-4p), followed by evening sessions (6:30p-9:30p) for customers 21 and over. The fun will continue Tuesday, November 10th through Sunday, November 14th, but those days will only include 21 and over evening sessions. Tickets are $10 per person and all sessions will feature live music at the brewery.
