On The Wendy Williams Show Friday, October 23, Wendy was not her usual self. Within minutes of the show starting, she was visibly slurring her words, having a hard time talking, losing focus, and walking differently.
After the show aired, fans went to social media to address her erratic behavior, including her former DJ, DJ Boof. Under an Instagram comment where someone insinuated that her behavior was why he left the show, he responded.
He wrote, “Yup exactly and it will all come out…Y’all have no idea what’s really going on and everyone there is afraid to speak up because they don’t wanna lose their jobs…this is going to play out bad…I feel sorry for the workers and victims.”
Other comments on YouTube about Wendy include, “This is humiliating. This needs to be taken down,” and “Oh Wendy, ive been following you for ever since hot 97. Im such a fan. You are definitely not well. Please wendy pick yourself up!!!! We watch because of you! Please get well!”
One fan added, “She is sick, period. Doesn’t matter if it’s drugs, alcohol or both. Shame on everyone involved for not having the courage to say, we love you and you need HELP. There is nothing to be ashamed of. Addiction is a beast that sooo many people struggle with, but recovery IS possible. I truly hope she overcomes this.”
Now Wendy Williams has come forward to address her erratic behavior.
On yesterday’s (October 26) show, she said, “I always say I love you for watching, ’cause I really, really do. I come here every day, and I try to do the best that I can for you. I appreciate you watching, but even after all of these years, it’s still work. An effort put in for the hour I’m out here, you know? I guess every day is not perfect, but I’m not a perfectionist. I’m not perfect.”
She lastly added, “I do appreciate you putting in the effort to watch us, and I love entertaining you. You know? It’s not easy. It is not easy, you’re a tough crowd.” She also appeared much clearer in the episode.
