What do you say when your significant other doesn't find you quite as significant? Elton John came up with “I Don't Wanna Go On With You Like That.” It was the first single from Elton’s 1988 album, Reg Strikes Back, and his biggest U.S. hit of the '80s.

According to Songfacts, Elton sings "I Don't Want To Go On With You Like That" from the perspective of a man being cheated on by a woman. When he recorded the song, Elton was still married to Renate Blauel (top right). They divorced in 1988 and just recently settled a lawsuit.

The video features several men being tormented by the same woman. It was directed by Russell Mulcahy, who directed over twenty videos for Elton John. The singer is seen throughout the video sporting a whole wardrobe trailer's worth of suits and fedoras.
