There's a lot of excitement, hope, and optimism surrounding the news of the COVID-19 vaccines that should soon be available. But with the anticipation of FDA approval comes a warning to watch out for vaccine-related scams.

According to Modern Healthcare, experts are telling Americans to beware of websites promoting fake vaccines or other fraudulent offers. The scamming actually began months ago with phony coronavirus "cures," bogus test kits, and personal protective equipment that was never delivered.

Federal investigators have already checked out more than 70,000 websites and 200 companies suspected of being linked to some sort of pandemic-related fraud. The report states that Homeland Security Investigations made more than 185 arrests, as well as 1,600 seizures of products worth more than $27 million.

The Department of Homeland Security says you should only get a vaccine from an approved medical provider. Don't respond to phone calls seeking personal information or click on social media posts claiming to sell cures.
