Shout out to two sports franchises in the Queen City: the NBA’s Charlotte Hornets and the NFL’s Carolina Panthers. The Panthers have already been eliminated from the playoffs, but the Washington Football Team is still in the hunt, coached by the Panthers’ former coach Ron Rivera who is the franchise’s winningest coach. None of that seemed to matter as Carolina smacked Washington around similar to how Moe used to smack Larry and Curly in the old Three Stooges comedy skits. They beat them so badly that Washington released it’s starting quarterback the very next day for playing so badly.
Then there were the Hornets. Playing against what many consider the best team in the NBA Charlotte beat Brooklyn on Sunday, despite Brooklyn coming in undefeated led by Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. Not only did they beat the Nets but Hornets guard Terry Rozier posterized Kevin Durant with an emphatic dunk late in the 3rd quarter that signaled to the NBA that just maybe these Hornets aren’t the same losers we’ve grown accustomed to seeing recently. Keep up the good work, guys. You represented the Queen City well this past weekend
