COVID Stimulus Bill Presents Bad News For Student Loan Forgiveness in 2021
If you have been wondering about the status of student loan forbearance in 2021 we have all the details. In 2020 the government had paused the payment of student loans but as of today, there will not be an extension for the forbearance.
In March, legislators passed the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act, also known as the CARES Act that aided in helping many to save finances during the pandemic. The hope that the latest COVID stimulus bill would include an extension was a hope for many, but now all government student loan payments are scheduled to resume after January 31, 2021.
Hopefully, there might be a change soon to help student loan holders out. I know for myself, paying my student loan was one of the hearest and most financially painful things I have ever done.
