After being closed for most of the 2020 season due to the pandemic, Carowinds has announced it will reopen on May 22nd. Charlotte Five reports that the amusement park has already posted job openings for the upcoming season including admissions, food service, performers, and ride workers.

The report also states that Carowinds is expected to have multiple health protocols in place by opening day, including advanced visit planning, required face coverings, temperature screenings, and more. Carowinds management says to expect longer than normal wait times for rides as seats, restraints, headrests, and armrests will have to be sanitized frequently. Groups may also be split up in order to comply with social distancing regulations.

Even with all of the changes, it will be good to get back on the rides. Carowinds will unveil two new attractions that we missed out on last year. Boogie Board Racer is billed as the longest mat racing slide in the Southeast. There will also be a nightly Grand Carnivale street party and parade.
